Human athletes know the value of massage as part of recovery and maintenance of their musculature - just watch any reality shows that follow football players or Tour de France riders - you'll see how much time they devote to this wellness practice. Massage improves blood flow to muscles, reduces stiffness, enhances flexibility, and can reduce pain when one part of the body is compensating for a sore or injured area. The psychological benefits, such as stress relief, make it a valuable part of an athlete's comprehensive training and recovery regimen.
Horses usually have asymmetries between right and left sides and can become stiff or tense when building strength in weaker areas or learning a new skill. Small things like sliding on the ice - that slight loss of balance - can strain a muscle in the back or legs, which, just like us, becomes stiff.
Equine massage allows a horse to release tension in a hands-on way.
Please note that it is advised that a horse has 24 hours off work after a massage.
Schedule your appointment by texting 416-271-9425.
Sessions are $75 each, and last approximately one hour for a full body massage.
Let me know if your horse requires a localized massage and we can sort it out!
Please note that I often use Reiki during massage - let me know if you prefer that your horse does not get Reiki.
Thank-you and see you soon!
