Recently, anthropologists found evidence of horse riding in the Yamnaya era. It became clear through examination of the bones that these people had been riders due to consistent skeletal changes that became known as “horsemanship syndrome”. While we riders of today can’t see directly into our bodies to ascertain these structural changes in our bones, we feel the “horsemanship syndrome” in our hips and lower back.
